QUEENS, N.Y. — State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky joined Commonpoint for a successful Winter Coat Giveaway at the Tanenbaum Family Pool in Little Neck, where coats were distributed to children and adults facing the winter cold. 

The event drew strong community participation and connected Queens residents with warm winter clothing at a time when many families and seniors are feeling the squeeze of rising costs. 

“As an educator and a lifelong New Yorker, I have always believed government works best when we show up for people in practical ways,” Senator Toby Ann Stavisky said. “This giveaway was simple, direct help: warm coats for our neighbors who need them. I am grateful to Commonpoint for their partnership and to everyone who donated. Because the need does not end after one day, we are still accepting coats so we can keep helping more families stay warm.”

The Senator’s office and Commonpoint thanked all community members who contributed, including residents, local businesses, and volunteers who helped collect and distribute donations. Commonpoint will continue to distribute donations through their community programs and partner networks to reach households facing hardship this winter.
