Supporting the Whale Awareness Act

I spoke in support of the Whale Awareness Act—legislation I proudly cosponsor and an important step to protect marine life after a troubling rise in whale deaths along our shores, including one in Long Beach. This bill is a great first step in addressing the issue, but we must ensure that the State’s push to fast-track offshore wind projects doesn’t ignore the concerns of local communities or the potential harm to our fragile ecosystems.
