PASS S.4072 — EXPAND ACCESS TO BREAST CANCER SCREENINGS NOW
Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer among women — and New Yorkers are being hit especially hard. Over 16,000 women in our state are diagnosed every year, and 2,500 die from this disease. On Long Island, rates are up to 18% higher than the state average.
Early detection saves lives — but too many high-risk New Yorkers are being denied access to the screenings they need.
S.4072 changes that.
It expands breast cancer screening coverage for people with:
A prior history of breast cancer
A first-degree relative with a history of breast cancer
Previous sonograms or diagnostic procedures for breast cancer
This bill is simple: more access, earlier detection, more lives saved.
We, the undersigned, demand the New York State Legislature pass S.4072 immediately.
