Senator Foley to Host Foreclosure Prevention Event at William Floyd High School

On Saturday, May 1st from 10 am – 4 pm, Senator Brian X. Foley will host a mortgage foreclosure prevention event at William Floyd High School located at 240 Mastic Beach Road, Mastic Beach, NY 11951.

The event will feature representatives from major banks, mortgage servicers, and housing counselors. The objective of this effort is to allow homeowners in jeopardy of losing their homes to foreclosure to meet one-on-one with professionals who can help them work through difficult financial times and avoid foreclosure. This is the second in a series of such events; the first, held in Central Islip, drew over 300 homeowners.

Shirley, Mastic Beach and surrounding communities in the 3rd Senate District face some of the highest rates of home foreclosure in the entire state (Suffolk County has the second highest rate of foreclosures in the state). Because the program is expected to service hundreds of constituents, those wishing to participate have been asked to sign-up in advance. To do so, they can call Sen. Foley’s office at 631-360-3356 or 518-455-2303.
