Senator Addabbo Partners with Queens Library for Library Card Sign-Up Month; A Day Full of Family-Friendly Activities

In commemoration of September as Library Card Sign-Up Month, Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. is partnering with Queens Public Library for a fun-filled day of activities to excite people about all the library has to offer and to encourage everyone, particularly students, since school just started this month, to obtain a library card.

“A library card is a free ticket to knowledge, fun and adventure,” Senator Addabbo said. “I think it is so important that we take opportunities like Library Card Sign-Up Month to raise awareness of the multitude and variety of resources that exist right in our community at all of the many Queens Public Library locations, and I am proud to be partnering with QPL again for another amazing event.”

The event will take place from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Queens Public Library in Glendale, located at 78-60 73rd Place. There will be three consecutive activities beginning at 11 a.m. with Face Painting with Party Color, followed by the History of Balloons with Nick the Baloonatic at 1 p.m. and concluding with a Salsa Concert with Sureno beginning at 3 p.m.
There will be plenty of library staff members on hand to help attendees sign up for a library card. All are welcome to enjoy this fun, free day of activities and education.
