TITLE OF BILL: An act to authorize the commissioner of general
services to transfer and convey certain land to the Thiells-Roseville

to the Thiells-Roseville Fire District approximately 1.2 acres of land
that is currently owned by OPWDD.
Section 2. Describes the 1.2 acres of land that is to be transferred
and conveyed to Thiells-Roseville Fire District.

application for conveyance of the land.
Section 5. States that the lands can only be used exclusively for the
purpose of the Thiells-Roseville Fire District to and upon termination
of such use the title to the lands will revert back to the State of
Section 6. This act shall take effect immediately.
The Hamlet of Thiells, in the Town of Haverstraw, has seen a
population growth over the past several years and, as a result, the
community has continued, to expand. Due to the growth in the
population, the Thiells-Roseville Fire District has had to serve a
much larger community which is why the fire district has enlisted and
continues to enlist more volunteer firefighters. As such, the current
fire district station cannot adequately meet the needs of the
increasing number of firefighters. Therefore, in order to accommodate
the growing community and growing number of fire fighters needed for
the safety of the community, the district would like to expand its
facilities. This land conveyance will allow the fire district to
construct a new substation which would meet the needs of the community
for the next 25-50 years.
