BILL NUMBER: S9116 SPONSOR: HAMILTON TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to persons designated as peace officers PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: The purpose of this bill is to provide peace officer status to criminal investigators employed by the United States Transportation Security Administration's investigations division. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This bill would amend section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law to provide that criminal investigators employed by the United States Trans- portation Security Administration's investigations division would be granted peace officer status.

HAMILTON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to persons designated as peace officers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by adding a new subdivision 85 to read as follows: 85. CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORS EMPLOYED BY THE UNITED STATES TRANSPORTA- TION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION'S INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
