 AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the establishment of a
   veteran career assistance program within the SUNY and CUNY systems
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section  353-b
 to read as follows:
   §  353-B.  VETERAN  CAREER ASSISTANCE. THE DIRECTOR, TOGETHER WITH THE
 CHANCELLOR OF THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK AND THE CHANCELLOR OF THE
 CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK, SHALL ESTABLISH A VETERAN CAREER ASSISTANCE
 PROGRAM. SUCH PROGRAM SHALL PROVIDE DISCHARGED  UNDER  HONORABLE  CONDI-
 TIONS  VETERANS  WITH ASSISTANCE IN RESUME WRITING AND EMPLOYMENT PLACE-
 MENT SERVICES. THE  PROGRAM  SHALL  BE  DEVELOPED  AND  MAINTAINED  WITH
 RESOURCES  ALREADY AVAILABLE TO THE DIVISION AND THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEMS.
 THE DIRECTOR SHALL REPORT TO THE LEGISLATURE ON  AN  ANNUAL  BASIS,  THE
 NUMBER OF VETERANS UTILIZING THE CAREER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
 it shall have become a law.
