BILL NUMBER: S3812 SPONSOR: GRIFFO TITLE OF BILL: An act to repeal section 16 of the general business law relating to the prohibition of barbering on Sunday PURPOSE: This bill repeals the state's prohibition on barbering on Sunday, which disallows "Any person who carries on or engages in the business of shav- ing, hair cutting or other work of a barber on the first days of the week." SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 repeals section 16 of the General Business Law. Section 2 marks the effective date.
