BILL NUMBER: S6184 SPONSOR: SKOUFIS TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public officers law, in relation to the filing of financial disclosure statements PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Ensures parity between grade 24 employees of CSEA and PEF as both being exempt from the requirement to file a Financial Disclosure Statement (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1: Uses the job rate for salary grade (SG) 24 public employees for CSEA or PEF members, whichever is higher, as the threshold for filing a Financial Disclosure Statement. Section 2: Establishes the effective date.

SKOUFIS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Ethics and Internal Gover- nance AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to the filing of financial disclosure statements THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (l) of subdivision 1 of section 73-a of the public officers law, as amended by section 5 of part A of chapter 399 of the laws of 2011, is amended to read as follows: (l) The term "filing rate" shall mean the HIGHER OF THE job rate of SG-24 as set forth in [paragraph] PARAGRAPHS a AND C of subdivision one of section one hundred thirty of the civil service law as of April first of the year in which an annual financial disclosure statement shall be filed. § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of April next succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law.
