This guide provided by Representative Jerrold Nadler's office details federal services and benefits available to New Yorkers affected by Hurricane Sandy. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, unemployment payments up to 26 weeks for workers who temporarily lost jobs because of the disaster, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
