Today, State Senator Liz Krueger, along with Senators Montgomery, Persaud, and Sanders, released a letter to the New York State Congressional delegation, urging them to oppose renewal of the EB-5 Visa Program. The EB-5 program allows individuals from other countries to "buy" a visa if they agree to invest $500,000 in a Targeted Employment Area. The program is frequently abused, and fails to make an impact in those areas for which it is ostensibly targeted.
