State Senator Gustavo Rivera on the Senate One House Budget Resolution
March 14, 2025
“Our Senate One-House budget proposal is a fiscally responsible plan that, in the face of potentially drastic cuts from Washington, is making targeted investments in key sectors such as healthcare, education, and housing, which will help uplift New York families.
“As the Chair of the Health Committee, I am proud that the Senate Majority rejected harmful Medicaid cuts, expanded funding for hospitals, nursing homes, and community health providers, added funding for programs that will help us address our State's healthcare workforce shortage. Further, it included my Primary Care Investment Act to address the lack of adequate funding for primary care and my bill to permanently carve out School Based Health Centers from managed care."
