Action on Staten Island traffic! Port gates opening earlier to address constant traffic snarls

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — After State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton asked for a solution to the traffic snarls plaguing the borough because of tractor-trailers headed toward Port Liberty, the Port Authority is now opening the container port’s gates an hour earlier.
Claro celebrated Scarcella-Spanton’s work, saying: “Due to the efforts of Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton’s office, Port Authority has taken initial action—opening the terminal at 6 a.m. From spearheading the initial meeting with impacted businesses and Port Authority to pushing for immediate improvements, the senator’s office has been instrumental in leading this effort. All the businesses located in and around Port Liberty are grateful to Senator Spanton and her dedicated staff.”
