STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton joined the New York City Parks Department to announce a $2.76 million capital funding project for Stapleton’s Sobel Tot Lot.

“These improvements to the Sobel Tot Lot have been a long time coming. Families in the community deserve a safe, modern park where they can gather without worrying about crumbling playground equipment or flooding. This funding will also support much-needed security upgrades, so parents can feel confident bringing their children to spend the day here,” Scarcella-Spanton said.

“It’s really important to me to make sure my constituents and their children have safe and secure parks to encourage more outdoor play. Supporting this project was a no-brainer, and I’m proud to have secured these funds to ensure that our community can enjoy the historic Sobel Tot Lot for years to come,” the senator said.
