“I am relieved to hear that police have apprehended a suspect in the terrible act of vandalism that occurred at the Chabad of the Beaches synagogue in Long Beach over the weekend,” State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. said. “Although law enforcement doesn’t believe it was an Anti-Semitic attack, it is still disturbing to see our Jewish neighbors being attacked once again, this time at their holy place of worship. Additionally, my thoughts and prayers go out to Shmuel Silverberg’s family and the entire Jewish community after the teenager’s senseless murder last week outside of his Yeshiva in Denver, Colorado. There is still much work to do both locally and across the country to ensure that the Jewish community does not face these senseless attacks anymore.”
