State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato penned a letter to NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos supporting the residents of Belle Harbor, Neponsit and other areas of the Rockaway Peninsula in their opposition to the US Army Corp of Engineers’ west end design for a concrete ramp and path from Beach 126th Street to Beach 149th Street.
In the letter, the elected officials lay out the complaints raised by residents of the area regarding the ramp and path, including the threat of more unwanted vehicles on the boardwalk, and the desire for an alternative solution to the ramp.
Addabbo and Pheffer Amato hope to be able to discuss this matter with DEC and USACE to come to a solution that is beneficial for everyone involved.
