“I believe all of New York is mourning the death of 22-year-old Police Officer Jason Rivera, as well as sharing concern for 27-year-old Police Officer Wilbert Mora who was critically injured on Friday, January 21 in Harlem. I send my condolences to the family and friends of P.O. Rivera, as well as the entire NYPD, during this difficult time and my prayers are for P.O. Mora's full recovery. This type of senseless violence needs to stop, and we must work together on the City and State levels to rationally address the gun violence in our city.”
