Addabbo hosting paper shredding and donation event at Atlas Park

State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. is partnering with the Shops at Atlas Park in Glendale to bring constituents a paper shredding and donation event this May.

On Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., a crew will be at the Forever 21 parking lot inside the Shops at Atlas Park, located at 8000 Cooper Avenue in Glendale, to help visitors safely and securely shred their paper for free. Additionally, the Salvation Army will be there to accept clothing, footwear and personal hygiene donations. Used eyeglasses and American flag donations will also be accepted. Atlas Park will also be taking food donations for the Sacred Heart Food Pantry in Glendale.

It is requested that visitors of the event enter the mall at the 82nd Street entrance.

The paper shredding truck has a limit of five (5) boxes or bags per person. Plastics, x-rays and pre-shredded paper are not permitted at this event.

“People are always looking for a safe way to get rid of items containing their personal information without the fear of having it fall into the wrong hands. By holding these paper shredding events throughout my district we are providing residents a way to do just that for free right in their own neighborhood,” Addabbo said. “I am thrilled to partner with the Shops at Atlas Park for this great event where residents will be able to not only shred their documents but have the chance to donate either clothing or food to those that are less fortunate.”
