Addabbo reviews hundreds of responses from his community survey mailer

Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr.

January 24, 2022

As a way to hear directly from constituents on what issues matter the most to them, State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. sent community surveys through the mail to all of his constituents, and created an online survey to collect answers as well.

The questionnaire asks residents in which community they live, to rank a series of issues — such as crime, education, parks/green space and more — from 1-15 on level of personal importance, and to rank how they currently view topics including traffic, job opportunities, parks and library services, and quality of local schools on a scale of 1 to 5.

Addabbo’s office has received approximately 500 responses so far, combined from the mailed surveys and the online component, from constituents throughout the entire district. The Senator and his staffers are now sorting through the forms to compile the top issues of concern for each community. From the answers, Addabbo feels he’s hearing directly from the constituents about issues that matter most to them and where he needs to focus his efforts in the coming year.

“As we start the new year, I want to hear exactly what issues my constituents deem as most important to them in their communities,” Addabbo said. “I can use this valuable information to help guide my decisions on where state funding should be allocated, if any new resources need to be implemented into a specific community, and where we can focus our events throughout the year. I appreciate everyone who has submitted a response, either by mail or on my website, because this allows me to do my job better for the whole district.”
