“Today starts the five-day Indian festival of Diwali, where we celebrate the spiritual victory of light over darkness and goodness over evil. This festival, also known as the Festival of Lights, centers around light through the lighting of candles and fireworks while also being a celebration of family. As the festival is celebrated in thousands of homes within my district and increasingly recognized in our schools, I want to wish all a happy, healthy and safe Diwali!”
