Harckham Denounces SCOTUS Decision to Overturn Roe v. Wade

Peekskill, NY – New York State Senator Pete Harckham released the following statement today in response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision to strike down Roe v. Wade and end the federal protections for a women’s right to choose:

“The right-wing majority of the U.S. Supreme Court’s unconscionable decision to overturn Roe v. Wade now returns our country to the cruel, dark ages where women were not legally in control of their own reproductive health.

“In New York, a woman’s right to determine her health choices without governmental intrusion is protected by a state law that I helped to pass in 2019 and 2022. I remain committed to fighting for women and their reproductive healthcare, no matter what.”
