Senator Addabbo speaks with representatives from QARI.
Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. partnered with Quincy Asian Resources Inc. (QARI) to host a social services assistance and benefit application program. It was held at his Woodhaven District Office on September 19, 2023, by appointment. Constituents received on-on-one personal and private help.
Services relating to the following programs were offered: Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), Cash Assistance, Emergency Rental Assistance (ERAP), Fair Fare, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), NYCHA, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
“I am excited to bring these much-needed services to the community where constituents can get help close to home, navigating programs that can sometimes be confusing,” Addabbo said. “I would like to thank QARI for offering this assistance at my office. If the program is as successful as I anticipate it will be, I will certainly consider expanding it to my Middle Village Office and add more dates.”
“We are very pleased to partner with Senator Addabbo’s office,” said Philip Chong, CEO and President of QARI. He noted that many immigrants face formidable challenges when trying to access these important services, from information and language barriers to difficulties accessing technology to complete applications. “We look forward to helping new clients in Woodhaven through the process to access the resources they need.”
