New York State Senator Steve Rhoads teamed up with Legislator Michael Giangregorio and the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce to provide Complimentary Movie Nights to Residents this Summer
September 28, 2023
Earlier this summer, Senator Steve Rhoads, along with Nassau County Legislator Michael Giangregorio, and the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce, hosted a 5-week Outdoor Movie Night Experience at Wantagh Park. This annual event aimed to provide families with a fun night out at no cost, giving the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and some of the most popular movies including Mamma Mia, The Lorax, Cars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The Movie Series was a roaring success and Senator Rhoads looks forward to working with Legislator Giangregorio and the Wantagh Chamber to continue this tradition and others like it in the future.
Senator Rhoads said, “The 2023 summer movie night series was a great success! We had an amazing turnout at each screening, with lots of happy people enjoying our selection of family-friendly films. The outdoor setting was the perfect backdrop for a memorable night. It was a pleasure seeing so many people from the community come together to share in the experience of watching movies with friends and family. We’re thankful for the hard work of our volunteers from Miss Wantagh and her Court, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wantagh Fire Department, the Nassau County Parks Department, the Nassau County Police Department, and the snack sponsors who made this event a reality, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s summer movie night series!”
Legislator Michael Giangregorio said, “I want to thank Senator Steve Rhoads, the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce and all of the volunteers for their partnership in putting together another successful Summer Movie Night series in Wantagh Park. The Summer Movie Night series offers our residents the perfect opportunity for some family-friendly fun on hot summer nights! Thank you also to the Nassau County Parks Department, the Wantagh Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Nassau County Police and Miss Wantagh. I am already looking forward to next year!”
Cathy McGrory Powell, President of the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce, said, “Another great summer movie season. Making fun summer memories. The Wantagh Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Senator Rhoads and Legislator Giangregorio for partnering with us again this summer. We want to thank our members Twin Dragons Acupuncture, Tara Ekelman, TD Bank, and Wantagh Champions Taekwondo for providing snacks and water each week. We could also not do this without our volunteers from Miss Wantagh and the Wantagh Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Thank you to all who attend. See you next year!”
