Addabbo Partners with Community Groups to Give Backpacks Away in Preparation of the New School Year

Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. worked with many civic organizations, local businesses, houses of worship and elected officials over the summer to distribute backpacks and school supplies to youth throughout the district to help prepare them for the new school year, which starts this month.

"Ensuring every child starts the school year ready to succeed is top priority,” Addabbo said. “That’s why I’m proud to have hosted this backpack giveaway with our generous and dedicated community partners —so students can begin their journey to knowledge with the tools they need. Education is the foundation of our community’s future, and every child deserves the chance to thrive."

Senator Addabbo would like to thank the following 2025 partners: Full Gospel Assembly Queens, Cityline Ozone Park Patrol, Ozone Park Kiwanis, Queens Community Board #9. Special thanks go to this year’s donors Macerich and Madison Square Garden.

More than 100 backpacks were distributed in total.
