Senator Addabbo thanks Bronstein Properties owners Barry and Daniel Rudofsky for providing the local public with an opportunity to work together.
Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. addressed the concerns of constituents as expressed by the Woodhaven Residents Block Association and worked with property owners and city agencies to provide physical change in the area around Equity Park, located at the intersection of 89th Avenue and 88th Avenue, as well as broader district-wide cooperation.
Senator Addabbo and his Chief of Staff, Raimondo Graziano, facilitated a full range of actions, which included an on-site interaction with the NYPD at Equity Park contributing to the review of the security needs, and visibility, thus securing the fence gate with the Parks Department for enhanced park safety.
The Department of Transportation shifted some street lighting to better illuminate the park area, and the Department of Education added extra lighting at PS 60 Annex to improve safety for students and families. The installation of an ARGUS camera near the park on 89th Avenue was funded through the office of Council Member Joanne Ariola.
Bronstein Properties, the owners of 90-19 88th Avenue, responded with a physical upgrade by installing exterior lighting along its 89th Avenue frontage, which made it much more visible and secure in the surrounding community. The Senator also met with Bronstein Properties owners Barry and Daniel Rudofsky to thank them for providing the local public with an opportunity to work together.
The Rudofskys own eight buildings in Addabbo’s district and have been working to make the community safer and improve quality of life.
“I am proud of what we have produced together—residents, local leaders, city agencies, and private property owners working together to make our community a safer and brighter place,” Addabbo said. “My office was prepared to work with the NYPD, Parks, DOT, DOE, and local community groups to translate concerns into improvements. This progress shows what is possible when neighbors and partners collaborate in the service of public safety and quality of life.”
