New York State Senator Steve Rhoads Delivers Toys to Children at NUMC

Senator Rhoads was joined by King Singh, the Founder of King Fights Cancer Foundation, to hand out toys to kids in need at Nassau University Medical Center.

Earlier this summer, Senator Rhoads hosted his Inaugural Cruise-Through Christmas in July Toy Drive to benefit local children in need. New York State Senator Steve Rhoads teamed up with Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino, the Oyster Bay Town Board, Legislator Rose Walker, and Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz in hopes of spreading holiday cheer all throughout the year by collecting toys for the USMC Toys for Tots and King Fights Cancer. Senator Rhoads was happy to deliver some of the toys collected during the summer Toy Drive to children in the pediatric unit at Nassau University Medical Center.

Senator Rhoads said, “The joy of giving is truly the greatest gift of all. Since toys are needed not only around the holiday time, but all year long I was happy to harness our community’s holiday generosity and cheer to make a positive impact in lives of countless children and families going through tough times. During the Toy Drive, it was incredible to see the kindness of the community in action and I am so thankful to everyone who donated. It was truly heart-warming to spread joy and happiness in the hospital and put smiles on children’s faces.”

King Singh, the Founder of King Fights Cancer Foundation, said, “As a cancer survivor and rare disease warrior, I know what it feels like to be in and out of the hospital. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the smile on the children’s faces when they receive a toy!”
