New York State Senator Steve Rhoads teams up with Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Nassau County Police Department for Police Appreciation Day at Wantagh Park

On July 24, New York State Senator Steve Rhoads joined Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and the Nassau County Police Department to host the Senator’s second annual Police Appreciation Day at Wantagh Park Summer Camp. The event offered local campers an unforgettable, up-close experience with the brave men and women who protect our communities. Children engaged directly with specialized units of the NCPD—including the K9 Unit, Emergency Services Unit, Marine Bureau, Mounted Unit, Motorcycle Platoon, Bureau of Special Operations, and officers from the 7th Precinct—as they demonstrated their equipment, shared real-world stories, answered questions, and highlighted the teamwork and training required to keep Nassau one of the safest counties in the nation. Senator Rhoads, a proud Wantagh native and tireless advocate for law enforcement, thanked the officers for their daily courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to public safety.
