Senator Rhoads Hosts Veteran’s Valor Walk and Food Drive

On August 23, Senator Steve Rhoads joined local veterans and community members at Eisenhower Park for his inaugural Veterans Valor Walk, a patriotic half-mile trek around Salisbury Lake honoring those who served. With every step, participants showed their patriotism by donating non-perishable food items as their entry fee, filling a truckload of supplies for the Veterans Food Pantry in East Meadow. Inspired by two of Rhoads’ summer interns, the walk united veterans and neighbors in solidarity, blending tribute with tangible aid to support local heroes and their families. Afterward, participants shared a complimentary bagel breakfast, celebrating the day’s success in fellowship and community spirit.
