New York State Senator Steve Rhoads, along with interns Emma Stein and Danny Donahue, proudly spearheaded the 2025 Halloween Costume Drive, a community initiative held in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island to benefit children in need this holiday season.

The drive encouraged local residents to donate new and gently used Halloween costumes, helping ensure that every child in the community could enjoy a fun and memorable Halloween. Thanks to the dedication of interns Emma and Danny, and the generosity of the community, hundreds of costumes were collected and will be distributed to families across Long Island.

Senator Rhoads expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the drive and praised the efforts of the interns for leading this initiative. He also extended thanks to the Bellmore Memorial Library, North Merrick Public Library, Levittown Public Library, and Wantagh Public Library for serving as collection sites.

“This event highlights the power of community and the impact our young leaders can have,” said Senator Rhoads. “Emma and Danny’s hard work and creativity made this year’s drive a huge success, and I’m so grateful to everyone who helped bring joy to children this Halloween.”
