Senator Steve Rhoads recently hosted his Intern Bill Proposal Presentation, where his summer interns showcased innovative research and legislative ideas on some of New York’s most pressing challenges.
From housing and healthcare to artificial intelligence, veterans’ affairs, blockchain, and senior safety, each intern presented a carefully developed bill—demonstrating not only thoughtfulness and passion but also a deep commitment to public service.

The program was further elevated by the participation of distinguished guests who shared their expertise and insights, including Assemblyman Ed Ra, Assemblyman Michael Durso, Assemblyman John Mikulin, Legislator Tom McKevitt, Legislator Rose Marie Walker, Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray, and Dr. Zakia Ghafari.
