Senate Finance Committee Chair Catharine M. Young and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Helene E. Weinstein will hold the fifth hearing, in a series of 13 hearings, on the 2018-2019 Executive Budget on Monday, January 29th, at 10:30 a.m. in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building, Albany.

During the Economic Development Hearing, government officials and representatives of various Economic Development advocacy groups will provide testimony to the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees.

These joint hearings will continue through February 13th and will be available for viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites. The Legislative Channel (on cable systems throughout the state) also will carry the proceedings, which will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, the channel will resume televised coverage of the hearings.

Scheduled to provide testimony are Howard Zemsky, President, CEO and Commissioner, Empire State Development and New York State Department of Economic Development; and RoAnn M. Destito, Commissioner, New York State Office of General Services.

Testimony also will be provided by representatives of the Manufacturers Association of Central New York: President and CEO Randy Wolken and CPA/Partner of the Bonadio Group Paul Henry.

Others providing testimony include Melinda Mack, Executive Director, New York Association of Training and Employment Professionals; Tom Furlani, Director, Center for Computational Research at the University at Buffalo, High Power Computing - New York; and Adam Zaranko, Executive Director, New York State Land Bank Association.
